Do you get the feeling that I don't like bike thieves?
Every 30 Seconds, a bike is stolen. Most of them are never recovered, a good (I don't have any statistics) portion of them end up on online sites such as eBay, Craigslist and the like. That killer deal you just scored on eBay? It possibly could be stolen.
There is a petition that has been started by Project 529 asking Craigslist and eBay to requiring a serial number when someone lists a bicycle for sale on their sites.
This simple addition will undoubtedly help minimize the number of stolen bikes that are moved across those sites. It will also help someone more easily search for their bike that was stolen.
Please sign their petition, and tell your friends/family/total strangers to sign it as well.
