It appears that Mother Nature has given us a reprieve from winter, at least for one more weekend. I don't know about you, but I am going to take advantage of the nice weather and get in at least one more outdoor ride before the bike goes back downstairs for it's annual maintenance before getting hooked up to the trainer.
In other cycling related news:
- Bernhard Kohl, the latest - and final, according to the UCI - cyclist to be found guilty of doping has confessed that he did use CERA. He admitted his guilt and said there was no need to test his B samples (he actually was positive on 2 different days). The Austrian now faces a 2-year suspension, a fine equal to one year's salary, forfeiture of his Tour prizes and the shredding of the contract he'd just signed with Team Silence-Lotto.
- The UCI is doubling the maximum suspension for doping in 2009, from 2 years to 4. It's hoped that the stiffer penalty will be a stronger deterrent as it would effectively end the careers of most riders caught using illegal performance-enhancing substances or techniques.
I don't know, loosing a year's salary, getting fired from your team, and pretty much killing any chance of getting picked back up by another team when you come off of your suspension seems pretty stiff to me, yet these guys are still doping.

Too bad Mother Hill hasn't given you a reprieve from laundry. : )
Lyk
That's okay. We'll get you caught up next weekend.
We actually got caught up last night! Unbelievable, huh? I'm sure there's still a TON down stairs to be done, but as for the 3,587 baskets that made their way up here.... DONE!!
